Darren Fletcher makes 100th consecutive Prermier League appearance

Darren Fletcher is only the eighth outfield player to appear in 100 consecutive Premier League matches after being named in Stoke City s starting XI to face Bournemouth on Saturday.

Fletcher last missed a Premier League game on January 31 2015 when West Brom hosted Tottenham, with the Scot then returning on February 8 as they claimed a 2-2 draw at Burnley.

He featured in 91 successive league games for the Baggies before departing for Stoke in the close-season, and Saturday s game sees him represent Mark Hughes men for the ninth time in the top flight.

Only seven other outfield players have reached the landmark, with Frank Lampard (164) holding the record since December 2005.

Colorado Rapids defeated Portland Timbers 1-0 on Saturday to secure a berth in the MLS Cup playoffs, as LA Galaxy s postseason participation was also guaranteed.

Maguire included in England squad for Nations League games

Harry Maguire has been included in the England squad to face Iceland and Denmark in the Nations League next month.

There are maiden call-ups for Phil Foden, Mason Greenwood and Kalvin Phillips, while Raheem Sterling also features.

Manchester United captain Maguire was on trial on the Greek island of Syros on Tuesday, following his alleged part in an incident involving police while on holiday in Mykonos.

The 27-year-old spent last Thursday and Friday night in custody and denies all charges.

Barcelona are set to sign teenage Groningen midfielder Ludovit Reis, the player s agent has claimed.

The 18-year-old made his professional debut in 2017 and has played 27 times in the Eredivisie this season.

And agent Aleksandar Bursac says Reis is about to join Champions League semi-finalists and LaLiga champions Barca.

He is reportedly to play for Barcelona B following an €8million move.
