Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri has denied reports linking him with a summer exit from San Paolo.
The 50-year-old has enjoyed a lot of success with the Azzurri since taking over the reigns in October 2009, but some media reports suggested that the tactician would look for a new challenge at the end of the season.
During the past few months Mazzarri was linked with a number of Italy’s top clubs, and he has finally responded to speculations regarding his future.
“I have a contract at this club until 2013 and I will respect it,” Mazzarri told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s game against Atalanta.
Napoli have done really well this season, having reached Champions League last 16 stage and Coppa Italia final, but their European hopes are in danger following the 3-1 defeat to Lazio.
The Azzurri currently occupy 5th place in the Serie A standings, sitting six points behind third-placed Lazio and just one point ahead of sixth-placed Roma.
Should Napoli fail to secure European qualification, Walter Mazzarri could change his mind and decide to leave San Paolo after all.
