Gladbach move for Leverkusen´s Kramer

Borussia Monchengladbach have signed Germany international Christoph Kramer from Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

Kramer spent the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaigns on loan at Borussia-Park, where he was a first-team regular and earned a berth in Die Mannschaft s World Cup-winning squad, before returning to parent club Leverkusen for last season.

However, Gladbach confirmed on their official website that the midfielder has signed a five-year deal that contracts him to the club until June 2021 after completing a medical on Wednesday.

Reluctantly Christoph returned to Leverkusen a year ago and we have been looking forward to bringing him back to Borussia, sporting director Max Eberl said in a statement.

He knows our team, he knows the club and with his exp…

Bale fires Barcelona warning ahead of Clasico

Gareth Bale has warned Barcelona that Real Madrid have not given up hope of snatching the Liga title from their grasp.

The champions hold a 10-point advantage over third-placed Madrid with just eight matches to go and are enjoying a 39-game unbeaten run across all competitions.

Bale, however, insists his side can still claim their first league title since 2012 if they are able to win Saturday s Clasico at Camp Nou.

I believe everything is possible in football. We re 10 points behind, but we re going to keep fighting until it s impossible, he said.

On Saturday, we can move to within seven points and you never know what can then happen.

Obviously every game is important in La Liga, if we win we can gain confidence and take that into the Champion…

Robertson signs new Liverpool deal

Defender Andrew Robertson has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool, the Premier League leaders have announced.

Robertson, 24, joined Liverpool from Hull City in July 2017 and became a mainstay in his debut season at Anfield, helping Jurgen Klopp s team reach the Champions League final, where they lost to Real Madrid.

The Scotland captain has continued to be a regular in 2018-19 and has started 20 of the 22 league matches for the Reds, who sit four points clear of reigning champions Manchester City at the summit.

In total, Robertson has made 56 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, scoring once.

It has been reported that the new deal runs until 2024 and the left-back said negotiations went smoothly.

As soon as the club ca…

Best Odds:

Bookmaker:

The Premier League returns once again this weekend for the final set of fixtures prior to the last international break of 2021. Every club from top to bottom will have different motives this week, whether it be wanting to carry momentum into the break or simply wanting to survive before regrouping and analysing how the season is going. On Sunday, two clubs who are heading in very different directions will meet as Arsenal host Watford at the Emirates.

Arsenal

The Arsenal that started the Premier League season and the Arsenal that we re watching today are two completely different sides. Mikel Arteta deserves a lot of credit for being able to get this squad playing good, clean football again, as was the Ar…

Madrid´s Ancelotti expects Barca to bounce back into LaLiga race under Xavi

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti expects Barcelona to bounce back from their poor start to the season under new head coach Xavi.

Xavi has been tasked with leading embattled LaLiga giants Barca out of their difficult period after his appointment as Ronald Koeman s replacement at Camp Nou.

Barca are 10 points adrift of Madrid after squandering a three-goal lead as Celta Vigo secured a dramatic 3-3 draw in the 96th minute on Saturday, while Ancelotti s league leaders edged Rayo Vallecano 2-1.

Ancelotti was asked about the return of Barca great Xavi to the Catalan giants – who are ninth in the standings – following Madrid s victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Obviously I don t want to talk about Barcelona. I know they re in a tough situation, and I v…

Al Sadd in sight of Barcelona

Qatari outfit Al Sadd are eyeing off the prospect of taking on European champions Barcelona at the Club World Cup.

Al Sadd will get a chance to play against Pep Guardiola s men, only if they first beat Tunisian side Esperance in the first round of the FIFA event.

The draw, held on Thursday in Japan, saw this year s Asian Champions League winners pitted against the CAF Champions League title-holders.

They will play on December 11 and the winner will face Barcelona in the semi-finals four days later.

We are very happy with the draw result, Al Sadd Director of Football Jafal Rashid Al Kuwari told FIFA.

We want to (defeat Esperance) to give ourselves the opportunity to play against the best team in the world.

The reigning La Liga and Euro…

Bitesize Prediction: Finn Harps vs Cobh Ramblers – 14/07/23

Market: Cobh Ramblers win

Odds: 11/10 @

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the First Division table, Cobh Ramblers will make the trip to Ballybofey when they meet the Finn Harps on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while the Finn Harps might have been last seen snatching a 0-0 stalemate at home against promotion contenders Bray, Dave Rogers’ side have failed to find any stability since losing their Premier Division status last season. Marking their return from June’s international break with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wexford, the Ballybofey-based outfit have now failed to win any of their previous four straight second-tier showdowns. With their extended wobble highlighted by a woeful 6-1 drumming away at Waterford last …

Ross County sack Adams

Ross County have sacked Derek Adams in response to the club s poor start to the Scottish Premiership season.

County returned to the Scottish top flight last term and recorded a seventh-placed finish under Adams, who also used to play for the club.

The stint in charge was Adams second he also managed the club from 2007 and 2010 and he returned in 2011 after a brief stint at Hibernian.

The club have lost their first four games of the current campaign, though, and Saturday s 2-1 defeat at Dundee United proved the final straw.

Adams father, George, who was director of football at Ross County, will also depart the club.

A club statement read: Ross County FC and their manager and director of football, Derek and George Adams, have come to an agreement, w…

United kept Cleverley from Everton loan

Everton manager Roberto Martinez insinuated Manchester United did not allow Tom Cleverley get to Merseyside, as to not bolster a rival.

United, battling to get back into the Premier League s top four after finishing seventh in 2013-14, were looking to part ways with Cleverley, eventually shipping the midfielder to Aston Villa on loan on deadline day.

Martinez, who linked up with the England international when he was loaned from United to Wigan for the 2010-11 season, said he was a big fan of the 25-year-old.

But bringing him to Goodison Park was made tougher by United s seeming unwillingness to bolster a rival to their UEFA Champions League ambitions, according to Martinez.

I am a big admirer of Tom, the Spaniard said.

That was an opportunity t…
