28-02-2010 Tottenham vs Everton

Tottenham face a difficult tie with serious injury problems against a resurgent Everton.

All seemed to be going so well for Harry Redknapp s Tottenham Hotspur, but as we head into the tail end of the season and Tottenham s attempts to break into the top four come under scrutiny, the Tottenham team seems to be hanging together by a thread.  Bentley, Jenas and Lennon all miss out from midfield, and Assou Ekotto and Woodgate are missing from the defence. The likelihood of Ledley King playing hangs in the balance. Two goalkeeepers out and a doubt over Jermaine Defoe, and it doesn t paint a pretty picture. However, Tottenham can be boosted by the return to form of Pavyluchenko and the threat posed by him and the towering Peter Crouch should cause Everton trouble.

Everton are basking in their victory over Manchester United last week but they will have to perform above themselves again if they are to overcome Totttenham away from home this weekend. Everton s team sheet is not a foregone conclusion with injury problems themselves. Marrouanne Fellaini is a doubt from the heart of their midfield and if he doesn t play then they will surely miss him. Their other key midfielder, Tim Cahill is also a doubt, and there s no doubt that without these two players, Evertom do not have the same opportunities. Fellaini is great at breaking up the play and Cahill is crucial as a penetrating midfielder and without these two players I think they will struggle. Defensively they are missing Hibbert and possibly Senderos, but they should have enough cover to cope.

This is another close match to call, but I am going to go with home advantage and go for a Tottenham Home Victory

Verdict: Tottenham Home Win
